Red Beetle

Red Beetle  It had rained that day , Wetting the dry ground, With holes filled and unable to breath, Velvety red beetles covered the ground, Beautiful, tiny red spots on green grass, On brown bare ground or tar coal road, During recess break Sona took me home, I ventured out though mother forbade, Not to go to strangers houses, With the breeze on the face I went, " Careful " she warned, don't crush a beetle, These are harmless little creatures.

Heaven’s call

Sometimes I wonder, Are you still there, Swinging on your gate, Calling out to me to come and play, When the moon was about to rise, I ,torn between your call and mom’s, Was unable to resist the temptation. Each twilight mom stood at the gate, With anxious expression for being late, I promised to return before dawn, Kept playing like an impish fawn, Sometimes I wonder Where have those days flown, Like the birds gone to foreign lands , Long distant away in a migration, Though a long time it may take, They return to their favourite place, Perhaps your voice will call me again, From the creeks of the time bygone, Still swinging on my mind’s gate, Don’t you think it’s getting late, Call before I get Heaven’s call.

A toast to you

A toast to you, Confetti showered, From grocery list, To legal documents, Who can deny , Your importance, O paper, You transport great thoughts, Events and facts, From time immemorial, To present day, Knowledge becomes eternal, When etched on you, A lover’s billet-doux, Emanating fragrance, A kings order oozing gore, Wouldn’t have been possible, Without you sure, You talk, you convey a lot, Whether a simple story, Or mind’s complicated galore.   @Copyright Sarita Khullar #SoulCraft_NaPoWriMo #NaPoWriMo #NamMan #SoulCraft #NaPoWriMo2022 #NaPoWriMoPrompts #prompts #day15 #April15 #poetryprompts

Prose and Picture

NapoWriMo21

Day5 As I didn’t post my poem here,I am doing it now. Now that I have learnt  All things fragile, delicate, Snowflakes, hearts , bubbles Tantalising from afar,  Are but meant to be broken . I would have kept my heart under lock and key, And thrown that key in the deepest sea, Where it could rust and dissolve, That would all problems solve, And me frolicking carelessly in the lea. #A tanka and a Limerick. #NaPoWriMo21 #ArtoonsInnPoetryParlour
